Services
Rehabilitation & Support Services
This refers to the comprehensive range of services and therapies designed to help individuals recover from illness, injury, or surgery, and regain their physical, mental, and emotional well-being. At YEHS, we offer these services to our clients as a form of support to assist in their recovery process and improve quality of life. The 3 step process of the rehabilitation and support services are:
- Joint Therapist & Rehab Assistant appointment: This is an initial appointment between 60 to 120 minutes and includes a full holistic assessment of needs, open discussion with the client to ascertain their goals, and the design of a treatment plan to work towards those goals. Once your treatment plan is set up we will carry out a joint visit with your therapist and rehab assistant. This is an opportunity for you to meet your rehab assistant and for them to familiarise themselves with you and your treatment plan.
- Rehab Assistant Appointments: Our experienced rehab assistants will guide you through your treatment program, provide encouragement and support to maximise its effectiveness, monitor your progress, and report back to your therapist for ongoing optimisation.
- Follow-Up Appointments: These sessions last at least 30 minutes (45 minutes for neurological conditions) and are tailored to your specific needs as determined during the initial assessment.
A comprehensive clinical report is provided following the initial assessment and throughout treatment. These reports meet the necessary standards for legal or insurance purposes.
Ergonomics Services
An ergonomic injury refers to discomfort or pain that originates from the body’s musculoskeletal or nervous system. This can involve the muscles, bones, joints, soft tissues, or even the nerves.
While some might think of these as “desk job” injuries, the truth is that they can occur in any profession that demands repetitive motions or sustains periods of strain.
Ergonomics Services involve the assessment and design of workplaces, equipment, and tasks to optimise comfort, efficiency, and safety for workers. These services aim to prevent injuries, reduce strain, and enhance productivity by ensuring that work environments are tailored to the physical needs and capabilities of employees. Our ergonomic serve follows this process:
- Basic DSE Assessment: This evaluation focuses on your work posture and workstation setup. We provide general education on potential long-term injury risks and offer basic strategies for minimising them. This 30-minute visit includes a brief written report with our findings and recommendations.
- Full Ergonomic Assessment: This in-depth evaluation builds upon the basic DSE assessment to include a detailed analysis of your workstation, equipment, and work environment. We discuss your individual needs and provide personalised advice. This 45-60 minute visit results in a detailed report with tailored recommendations.
- Physiotherapy Ergonomic Service: This service caters to individuals with specific needs beyond a standard office ergonomics assessment. It may involve recommendations for reasonable workplace adjustments, design of a customised workstation, or solutions addressing unique health or support requirements. A qualified physiotherapist conducts a comprehensive assessment, collaborates with you to develop personalised solutions, provides tailored advice and education, and delivers a detailed report. The assessment typically lasts 1-2 hours, with additional time dedicated to research and report writing (depending on individual needs). A written report is included with this service. Additional reports, particularly those intended for legal purposes, may require a surcharge.
